How To $ave Money at Kohls!!

I have been getting some amazing deals at Kohls lately so I wanted to give you a few hints on some of my Kohl's shopping strategies.
---
First of all, let me explain why I LOVE Kohls!!! Kohls is considered a "department store," it's just not in a mall. They have items on clearance all the time that are difficult to find on clearance at other places (ex: Jewelry, shoes, clothes, housewares). They have great quality brand name stuff.
---
The first thing you have to do to save money at Kohls is sign up for their credit card. Did I just say that???? Then let me preface that by saying; most store credit cards are a huge rip off. Store credit cards always have extremely high interest rates and they never really save you money. Kohls is the ONE exception. Kohls is the ONLY store credit card I have. Let me repeat that: Kohls is the ONLY store credit card I have! Once you sign up for the credit card you will start getting flyers in the mail with coupons in them for a certain percentage off. Most of the time the coupon will be for 15% (when you use your Kohls Charge Card....that's why you have to have one). But I just wait until I get the 20% off or 30% off coupon. That's when you can really start getting good deals.
-----
But wait....Kohls has another program called "Kohls Cash" that can make for some awesome deals too.

Here's how it works...you go shopping at Kohls during certain advertised times (like last week was one of these times) and you can earn $10 in Kohl's Cash for every $50.00 you spend. When you check out you get a little coupon (sort of like Extra Care Bucks at CVS) and that coupon can be used only during certain dates. So for example: Last week I went into Kohl's and spent $114.00. When I checked out I got a coupon for $20 worth of Kohl's cash (You get $10 for every $50 you spend, so I got $20 because I spent over $100). I can go back this week and use that $20 to buy whatever I want. Make sense??? You can't "roll" Kohl's cash. In other words you can't earn it and then spend it in your next transaction.
--------
THE BEST DEAL....
Is when you have a 30% off coupon and you can earn Kohl's cash!!! It's sort of like coupon stacking, except it's using both of Kohl's reward systems at the same time to give you the most bang for your buck!
---
Last week you could earn Kohl's cash and I had a 30% off coupon. I found some patio chairs that I really wanted but they were $79.99 each. Yikes, way too expensive for me. But after a sale, 30% off and some Kohl's cash that I earned, I ended up paying less than $20.00 a chair! Yay!!!
---
But now I've got a $114.00 credit card bill coming at some point! Not to worry, I can walk in the store at anytime and pay it off. I could have paid it off directly after I charged it on the credit card. You can just tell the cashier that you want to pay off your Kohl's Charge balance or you can put any amount of money on it right there in the store. The other great thing about your Kohls charge is that if you pay 1/3 off your balance off each month you will completely avoid the finance charge. So even though it has a super high interest rate, you only have to pay a third of the bill off to avoid any interest fees.
----
Last but not least,
sign up for Kohls email updates and they'll send you $5.00 coupons (with no minimum purchase) periodically.

Happy Shopping!

I LOVE Kohl's too! I have sort of found a way around the limited date to spend your Kohl's cash. If I don't need anything during the time that the Kohl's cash is good for I will purchase something for the value of the Kohl's cash and then return it. If you get a refund, you lose your Kohl's cash but if you take store credit they will give you the value of your Kohl's cash on a store card and then it doesn't expire. Maybe that's obvious to other's, but I was super excited when I figured it out!
