Uncover Exciting History Review

Uncover Exciting History

Uncover Exciting History is described by author Amy Puetz as "Revealing America's Christian Heritage in short, easy-to-read nuggets".
I have to admit that I'm not much of a history person.  I've never loved history and I just don't remember much about details.  As a homeschooling mom I was excited to review Uncover Exciting History, with hopes that I would learn lots of new things--and enjoy what I was reading!
I really did enjoy reading the short pieces that are written from a Christian perspective.  Some of the topics included are:

*The Lewis and Clark Expedition
*Miracle At New Orleans
*The Pilgrims' Legacy
*The French and Indian War
*The Great Depression
Also included are bonus chapters, one of which is titled The Hand That Rocks The Cradle:  Mothers Who Changed The World Through Their Children.  This one was especially encouraging!  At the end of each section is a group of questions appropriately titled "Digging Deeper".  These will help the reader to think back on what was read and are great discussion questions if you're reading with kids.

I think that Uncover Exciting History is perfect for anyone like me who isn't much of a history buff.  I look forward to using this book with my children as a supplement to their homeschool lessons.  I received the e-book format but this is also available in hard cover.  I don't usually prefer e-books, but I do like that I could print out one section at a time to work on during school time.

Uncover Exciting History retails for $16.50 and can be found at Amy's website here.  You can also follow her on Twitter and Facebook.
