Yay!!! We actually got this coupon in our local paper (The Record Herald)! It's for $3.00/1 Gain Fabric softener!!! What an awesome high value coupon!!!Deal Idea at Walmart:
Gain Fabric Softener, 80 ct Sheets $3.26
$3.00/1 Gain Fabric Softener RP 2/13
Final Price: $0.26
This is a good week to buy lots of newspapers! That coupon alone makes it worthwhile to buy a few extra papers. If you pay $0.75 for a paper, it's like getting that fabric softener for $1.00 which is a great price. Plus there are lots of other great coupons that you'll be able to use to (Like a Kelloggs coupon that would go great with a sale at Weis this week). Stock up on Fabric Softener sheets while you can!!! These deals only roll around every couple of months.

It's a great deal! Super like it!
It's great that you are trying to help people with the board and your classes. However, the Waynesboro drug stores are not large enough to handle a large volume of couponers. I have been coupon shopping in Wbo for years and now because of the influx of couponers attending your classes, I have to drive to Chambersburg, Greencastle or Hagerstown just to find the sale deals... if I'm lucky. While I see how you are trying to help, you are making it more difficult for those of us who are seasoned couponers. Just a thought to ponder.
awww...I'm sorry you feel that way! There is truth to what you're saying, but I think that there is plenty to go around. I consider myself a seasoned couponer and haven't seen much of a change in the supply since classes started.
I also know that the drug stores order products based on what they expect the demand to be, so hopefully they will order more! You can always get a raincheck, too.
I personally have enough of a stockpile of items that I don't get too bothered when a store is out of a product. The sales cycle and I'll just catch it next time around.
I do have to say that I've been impressed with the local grocery stores and how well stocked they are with sale items!
If you have any suggestions as to how we can address this, let us know! We won't stop doing classes because we have seen so many people helped by this--people who have lost an income and need to know what we do!
Next week at CVS there is a great deal on Kleenex tissues!!! Buy 5 boxes, use the B1G3 and the $1/4 coupons from the 2/13 SS and that is 5 boxes of tissues for only $2.88!!!! Get those coupons ready!!!

So, you want them to stop helping others because it's making your shopping more difficult? That's an incredibly selfish attitude!
I personally am grateful that my church offered this class and also that Judy and Millicent are willing to teach these couponing techniques and share deals on their blog. I am a stay at home mother of 4, and one of those kids are in college. And recently because of the recession, my husbsand along with many others in his company, not to mention, across the nation, had a cut in his pay. Aside from my mortgage, our grocery bill has always been the next largest bill to contend with. Knowing these techniques has immensely lightened a financial burden from our family. I am forever grateful!!!!
I understand the frustration that comes when you have a deal that you want to get and when you get to that store it is all gone, but any seasoned couponer not only understands the "cycles" in couponing, but also has a nice stockpile. I understand that sometimes people "hoard", which any couponer has struggled with at one time or another. It can be tempting to "clear" a shelf. Hoarding is a sign of greed in the heart, but so is wanting to keep all of the deals for yourself and not share them with others. As a follower of Christ, I am not concerned about "Anonymous's" inability to find material items in the stores, more importantly I am concerned about the greed, envy and bitterness her heart.
Dear Anonymous, If you are a follower of Christ, you need to search your heart and ask the Lord to convict you of any sin that you might be haboring. If you are not a follower of Christ, I would invite you to attend one of the couponing classes at our church. Any of us would be happy to sit down and talk to you about God's never-ending love, mercy and grace.
I understand 'Anonymous's' frustration as it is impossible to find anything in the local CVS and Rite Aid. That's why I go to the Hagerstown store now. (Plus it is near Weis and Martins... which doubles up to 4 like coupons unlike the Waynesboro store, btw). I don't know if it's a combination of all the new couponers either from the classes or ridiculous portrayals of couponing from shows like Extreme Couponing. Either way, combine that with the fact that the local stores are horrible at carrying enough stock for sales and you get frustrated couponers. OR, it could be that people are hoarding, which IS happening.
To comment on some of the other posts, I don't think it's greed to be disapointed that you can't even buy 1 item on sale because someone was waiting outside the store at opening to buy a cart full of the same item. This is happening at the local Rite Aid. Just ask the cashiers. They know who the hoarders are. I used to be able to go into the store on Sunday afternoon and find what I was looking for. Now, I would have to get up early and be there when the store opens and fight the shelf clearers. No thank you. I enjoy sleeping in on Sunday mornings. The deals aren't that important for me to wake up early.
I'm not sure what couponing has to do with religion, other than the typical imposing of YOUR beliefs on others. My guess would be if 'Anonymous' wanted a sermon, she/he would be sitting next to you in church. Sorry if that sounds mean, it's just a pet peeve of mine when people bring religion into completely non related subjects.
I'm not defending 'Anonymous' about the classes because I think it is WONDERFUL that they are offered for the community. I share coupons and tips to anyone that will listen. A suggestion would be to look ahead at the flyers and tell the manager of CVS and Rite Aid what the deals are so they can stock enough for everyone. However, that would not take care of the hoarders, just give them more 'stuff.' lol
To Anonymous: It sucks to have to run around for deals, I agree. It's not going to go away, only increase with people being smart and learning the coupon techniques like those taught in the classes or found on the internet. Couple that with job losses and increasing prices, it's just going to be a way of 'couponing life' locally and elsewhere.
My suggestion is, knowing the issues locally, adapt. Sounds like you already have. Stop complaining about it and blaming it on the classes or do something to help change it.
Wow! I have to say Millicent and Judy, don't let this get to you. God always gives people what they need, maybe not what they want - but what they need.
And yes, God needs to be brought into this - he's the one that allowed these two ladies to share all they have learned about couponing with others.
Thank you both so much and God Bless you both, D
