Always Ask

One thing we always tell people--if you are shopping at a store that isn't your "regular", then ask about their coupon policy when you first go in.  Don't assume anything.
I need to listen to my own advice.
I have gone into a different Martin's store 3 times in the past few weeks.  The first time I had a decent experience.  The last two weren't so great.
Today I learned that as a whole, Martin's stores don't have a general coupon policy.  Each store can make up their own detailed policy.
This particular store won't allow you to use 1 coupon per item on a BOGO sale.  That's too bad because the other Martin's/Giant stores allow it.
So always, always ask!!

Oh, and by-the-way--my 3rd attempt at the Kraft deal today and it STILL didn't work for me.

Kraft deal didn't work at 2 of the Hagerstown stores, or the Waynesboro store. It did at the dual highway store. What I've found is the 2% slices and certain types of shredded cheese won't add up (in the register) for the $15. I took my reciept to CS in Wbo and they said they would refund the $5 'this time' because the deal is after coupons. I explained 'discount' was the store sales, not coupons because I did the same transaction in Hagerstown and the $5 came off instantly and I used coupons, bringing my total to zero with a $4 catalina from two weeks ago. The only difference was the type of shredded cheese.

So, something is wrong in their system where all the items listed in the add aren't calculating for the deal. I can confirm, the $5 instant savings IS before coupons. I've done this deal 4 times so far... twice it worked, twice it didn't. The two times it worked without a problem, the coupons weren't even scanned before the instant savings was deducted.

Oh, and the Maugan's Ave store tried to tell me they wouldn't allow 2 coupons on a b1g1 sale. I asked for their coupon policy and instead the manager said they would take both 'this time.' I called corporate and they said 2 on a b1g1 was fine. The floor managers at the Maugans Ave store are NOT coupon friendly at all. I'm actually trying to avoid that store now. The cashiers are very friendly though.

that's what I'm thinking, too. The coupons have nothing to do with it...something in the system is wrong. Any instant savings comes off once the cashier hits total (or whatever the button is), and before they even take your coupons. So you are right on that!

I'm tempted to take it all back and have them ring it up without coupons to see what happens--to show them that something is wrong.
It's also doing more than one discount in a transaction, IF you don't have a "glitch" item.
I don't think I've seen this much of a mess with an instant savings before.

I also called customer service and was told they can make their own rules. I plan to call the store manager tomorrow. My kids were shopped out and I just couldn't stay there any longer today.

So the new Martin's gave you a hard time? I love that store and have never had a problem. I guess we are always at the mercy of the cashier and whatever manager is on duty :(

I went to Maugans Ave this week and tried to do the kraft deal. It did not come off so I went to cs and asked if I was just over looking it...she said no and gave me a 5 dollar bill:) I have always had the best of luck at Maugans Ave. I'm so sorry for you anonymous:(

I love Maugans Ave. it's the only Martin's I want to shop at. I have never had an issue with coupons, even when I'm in the wrong and I discover later but they took the coupon anyway. I have not tried the Kraft deal.
