Fifteen Boxes of Cereal = $0.00

Did you guys happen to notice this ad in this week's Kmart flyer? Well, I didn't and that's why I'm so glad I read all these other deal blogs!!
Check out this stack of cereal. It consists of 5 boxes of Special K and 10 boxes of various other Kelloggs cereal.

I bought 5 boxes of special K cereal and used (5) -$1.00 off coupons HERE and HERE which doubled to -$2.00 so that's $10 off (5) boxes of cereal.
Kmart has a promotion this week that you get a $5.00 credit if you buy (5) Special K product. So when you use all those coupons and get the five dollar credit you actually make $2.50 off of this deal.
THEN I bought 10 boxes of Kelloggs cereal which were on sale for 25 cents each (see my previous post). And I used (5) of the $2 off 2 coupons from the 8/30 RP. So my total for the 10 boxes was $2.50, which was exactly how much money I made off the Special K!

Here's the proof! This is a first for me! I've never walked out of a store without spending a dime! Even the cashier was shocked and called two other cashiers to come over and look at the reciept, just to make sure it was in fact correct!
-----
Check out THIS Post from Hip 2 Save to read all the details about the Special K deal!
-----
P.S I would suggest that you hurry up and do this deal. There is no way Kmart is prepared for tons of people coming in and buying 15 boxes of cereal at a time! So hurry!

A good video

Last night at our coupon swap, we watched a video from this great blogger as she shopped throug wal-mart (scroll through her posts and you should find it!). I thought today's video was worth highlighting....it's all about organizing those coupons. I'm always changing my method and I still haven't found what I love!
Go HERE to watch!
Thanks so much, It's Hip 2 Save!

K-Mart Doubles in Waynesboro & Chambersburg!!!!

Before we get to the deals, lets talk about the rules! Kmart says that they are only accepting 10 coupons per person per day (Chambersburg Kmart is following this rule). Kmart also says your total has to be $25 before coupons (no one said a thing to me about this rule at the Kmart in Chambersburg, but my total was $56.55 and I paid $17.34 in the end).
$0.25 cereal makes my day!!!!
Here's the deal:
Kmart has select Kelloggs cereals on sale 4 for $9.
Use (2) of the -$2.00 off 2 coupons from the 8/30 RP insert.
When the coupon doubles it means you're getting 4 boxes of cereal for $1.00!!!!
Don't forget if you got some of those Vocal Point Rice Krispies coupons those would also give you 25 cent cereal.

So I went a little crazy and added a bunch of Kelloggs cereal to my already huge stash of Kashi cereal!
I got several packs of Pampers for $5.99 each by using the -$2.00 coupon from the 8/30 PG insert.

9/13 SS has a $2.00 of 2 coupon for Crystal light. That doubles to $4.00 off 2 and it makes each of these canisters less than a dollar.

-$1.00 off 1 windex (coupon is no longer available to print) made these wipes about a dollar.
I had a -$1.00 off one 409 product from the 9/13 RP insert.

Leave us a comment and let us know what Kmart deals you got!!!

Local Restaurant Deals

I've decided to compile a list of local restaurant deals! This is going to be an ongoing list, so make sure you leave a comment if you know of a good deal and I'll add it to the list! I've gotten this information from a variety of sources including; first hand experience, other blogs, restaurant websites and word of mouth....so make sure you call ahead or ask when you get there to make sure that these deals I've posted are in fact correct. Sometimes things vary state-to-state and just because their website says it doesn't necessarily mean they're participating. Let me know if you find something that is incorrect. Tide Stain Release

If you're heading to Target be on the lookout for Target coupons for Tide Stain Release. I found tons of Target coupons for the Stain Release product on the necks of the bottles of regular Tide. You can pair this with the coupon I mentioned earlier (that's with the Sharpie coupon) for a great deal. I also found in-store manufacturer blinkie coupons for this product in Food Lion. I bought a few bags of the 10 count for $3.79 and paid $1.79 for it. Not bad. And I think Tide Stain Release actually works. I have a Ketchup lover in my family, so I should know :)

Want Walmart Deals??

The Target deals and Food Lion deals are posted everywhere, but at Walmart it's sometimes challenging to find an awesome deal because they don't have store coupons and they don't double coupons, but they do have great prices and For the Mama's posts great Walmart match-ups! Check it out HERE!

Leap Frog Coupons

Do you still have LeapFrog coupons that you haven't used?? Do you want some Leap Frog coupons?? Go to www.leapfrog.com and set up a "learning path" for your child. At the end you will get product recommendations for your child and some great coupons that you can print. Right now Walmart has The Cat in the Hat and Dora Goes to School Tag reading books on sale for $10.00. Then use the -$4.00 coupon to get them for $6.00. Walmart also has several Leapster Games on sale for under $18.00. Pair them with the -$5.00 from the Leap frog website and you're getting a pretty good deal.
----
P.S. I think the Kmart Leap Frog deal that I mentioned earlier is dead. I tried it this weekend (again) and it didn't print a catalina.
~J~

FREE Pictures

The Picture People have another great deal. I did this about a month ago and although they will try to sell you extra pictures, you really do walk away with FREE portraits! Now this ad looks a little confusing because I'm not so sure that you can just get the FREE portrait package. It looks like you might have to buy the $25 worth of picture postcards to get the FREE package (which doesn't really make it free, does it??). I'm not sure, but I'm going to schedule an appointment and find out. Either way, it's still a good deal. Their portrait sheets are usually $18.00 each. Print the coupon HERE.

Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters

There is a great coupon available right now--$1.60 off of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters. At Food Lion these are 2.50 this week, so .90 cents a bag with the Q.
If you can pair this with the FL $1 off any 2, then you can score a decent deal! (Please forgive me--I can't remember what flier my FL store coupon came out of, but it was a booklet that was in the store last month!).
Go Here to print your coupon
Thanks, Brenda!

Sunday Inserts

This weekend's newspaper is FULL of coupon inserts! I was so excited to see them all that I might be going back for more! Also, don't throw out the Rite Aid ad....there are quite a few manufacturer coupons in there, including a $2 off any nabisco cracker or cookie...it has the Rite Aid logo, but you can use it anywhere (it says man q). This could make for a great deal combined with a sale (let us know if you find a good deal using this!).
Also, there is a coupon for $1 off any Johnson's product...you can use this on the Buddies soaps and get them for free! At last count we have 30 of these in our closet :)

Awesome Target Purchase!

I got all of the above for just at $7.
4 boxes of pop tarts, 4 boxes of ritz, 4 boxes of ritz crackerfuls, 2 packs of chips ahoy, 1 box pepperidge farm cookies, 4 small 'cups' of cheerios, 2 boxes of wheat thins, 3 boxes of Fiber One cereal, 6 packs of Bic pens, and 1 candy bar (was Wyatt's suprise for helping me).

I won't do a rundown of what all I used to get this, but I did the Fiber One and the Nabisco gift card deals, as well as threw in other things that I had coupons for.

The small cups of cheerios were .95 and there is a Target coupon for $1 off a GM cereal. If you can find any of these then it's a good deal=Free!

I did mess up on this one...a screaming baby, long lines, and cashiers rushing me didn't help! If I had added 2 more boxes of Ritz then my total would have come down to about $2 for everything! But somehow I lost the 2 boxes on the way to the register and didn't have it in me to go back for more!

This next week there is a great Kashi gift card deal so watch for a rundown on coupons soon!

I hope to see you there!!

Leap Frog Deals @ Kmart

First of all...Sorry for the sideways picture, but you get the idea!
Kmart has a deal right now where if you buy one Leap Frog item you get a $5.00 coupon (catalina) for another Leap Frog purchase! So I went to town!! Kmart in Chambersburg has a pretty good Leap Frog Clearance section (the one in Waynesboro does not). The Wall E game was $11.00, then 20% off, then I used a -4.00 coupon, then I used the -5.00 catalina and I got it for $0.03 cents. All of those games were on clearance except for the Cars one (which was one I just wanted to have) but it was only $18 which is a good price for Leapster games. Animal Genius & Backyardigans were $16.00, then 20% off and I used coupons and Catalinas to get them for $4.33 ea!!

Here's how I would get started if you're going to do some Leap Frog shopping! Find a TAG book that is on sale and buy that first! The Kung Fu Panda book was originally $7.00, then it was 20% off, then I used a -3.00 coupon and it cost $3.?? The tractor tipping book was not on sale, but after a coupon and Catalina I got it for $7.38. I'm sure I won't find them at that low price again!

These games were also on sale. I did not have coupons for them (only b/c I didn't print them. There are two coupons you can use for -$3.00 off a Leap Frog toy) but I still got the Fix the Mix game for 3 dollars and change (it would have been almost free if I had used a coupon) and the Sing-Along Read Alongs were $4.50 after the 20% off and the -5.00 catalina! What great gifts!! I hope you've started Christmas shopping! If not, start NOW :)

Money Saving Madness has links to all the coupons HERE and some examples of some other deals people found! If you have the LeapFrog Clickstart system, you can find some great deals right now!

JUST REMEMBER!!!! ONLY BUY ONE ITEM AT A TIME SO YOU CAN GET A -$5.00 COUPON TO USE FOR EACH ITEM! WHO CARES IF THE PERSON BEHIND YOU IN LINE GETS ANNOYED! THE IMPORTANT THING IS THAT YOU'RE GETTING A GREAT DEAL!

Cheap Sidewalk Chalk

Food Lion has a lot of great summer-type stuff on clearance, and I snagged these for $1.25 each (regular 6.99) yesterday! They would make great gifts! The 3D one is really cool, too!

Parent's Choice Formula @ Walmart

If you have a baby and need formula, be on the look out for this formula at Walmart. It's supposed to be 2 for $10.00 for a limited time! That is an A-MAZING price. I got that information in an email and at the bottom of the email it said "only at participating Walmarts nationwide" but I wanted to let you know so you could look for it if this is something you need!
Formula can be so expensive, so this is a great way to stock up!

TARGET Clearance

I went to Target in Chambersburg this morning (and forgot my coupon binder...oh the irritation...but anyway...) and they have TONS of red clearance stickers on everything.
Most of the school supplies are now on clearance, including a whole row of kids Hanes socks, t-shirts and underwear. Paper towels and even tissues had clearance stickers on them!
I also found some great deals on toddler girl clothes.
Playtex sippy cups on on sale for $5.00 for a two pack of the insulator cups, which I think is a fabulous deal.
Glade scented oil candles in the little tin are still on sale for $1.66. Look inside the tin for a -$1.50 coupon! Now that's a great deal!
~J~

Chicken Recipes!

So if you took advantage of the great chicken deal at Food Lion, you're like me and have a freezer full! So now I need to get creative with my dinners so that we aren't having 'just chicken' every night!
Here are two of my favorite chicken recipes...please, please share yours with us in the comments (or email and i'll post it if you're having trouble).

***********************
I have made this one so many times and for so many people. I've never had anyone say that they don't like it! Just a note: I don't use the chilis in mine, and we top it with shredded mozzarella cheese.
**********************
Enchilada Casserole
Cook your chicken and then dice or shred it (I shred). Tear up flour tortillas and line the bottom of a baking dish. Cover that layer with your chicken, then cover that with another layer of tortillas (torn). Pour a large can of enchilada sauce over and top with lots of cheese (whatever your favorite!). Serve with sour cream! So easy and really yummy!

Here is my (millicent's) Food Lion trip today! Mine is a little different from Judy's..I forgot to take another Nuts coupon :( and instead of chocolate milk I got baby food. I love that every time I buy Gerber baby food I get a catalina (coupon printed with my receipt--today I used $1 off 3 organic foods) for Gerber! And it's a manufacturer, so I stack that with a FL store coupon ($1 off 3 Gerber baby foods). I really like to get the organic and this makes it a good deal!

I paid $4.98 for $38.97 worth of groceries! And those little packs of wipes are perfect for keeping in the car or diaper bag!

Cheap Pepsi @ Walmart

Pepsi cubes are priced at $3.98 at Walmart this week! There are 24 cans in each cube making them only 16 cents a piece. Some people have reported finding peelie stickers on some of the Pepsi products which would make this an amazing deal so keep your eyes opened for them. (Walmart in Waynesboro does not have any peelie stickers).
~J~

Martin's has Vitamin Water 10/$10 this week. There are tearpad q's at CVS stores for .75/2. Doubled this will score you a great deal on Vitamin Water--we love this stuff! Be sure to ask your Martin's store their double coupon policy--some will double only 1 of the same q, while some will double 3 or 4.

High Value Food Lion Coupons

Be on the look out for these high dollar coupons at Food Lion this week. I found these taped to the products at the Greencastle Food Lion. The Clorox, Lipton and Green Works coupons are all STORE coupons so you could pair them with a manufactures coupon if you found one (I'm going to dig a little tonight to see if I can find some good match ups). Even if you don't have matching coupons the Green Works coupon could score you some 99 cent toilet bowl cleaner and it makes all their other products fairly inexpensive.

P&G Coupons

Go Here to sign up for a Proctor and Gamble coupon booklet, compliments of Sav-A-Lot. My guess is that these will be manufacturer coupons with the SAL logo on them. Or maybe not. Either way, as long as it says manufacturer coupon at the top, you can use it anywhere!

A GREAT tool

Not long ago I came across a link to Roboform, an online service that will keep up with all of your passwords...and fill out forms for you!!! I love it. I don't use it to save my passwords, but oh my the time it has saved me in filling out forms for freebies! I just right click on the page, hit fill forms, and voila! So easy!
I have not had any problems with this and i've been using it for about a month. And I get nothing for referring people :)

We didn't do this last year, but i'm pretty sure i'll be dragging Ben over on Monday :) We'll be wearing our favorite team shirts, but I won't tell you who that would be. I'll just say that we're hiding our beagle :)

I'm so excited to be teaming up with Judy on a 'bargain blog'! We both enjoy sharing our finds with anyone who is interested, and we often seem to come across very different deals. So what better idea than to have our own blog!?! I hope that everyone can find something helpful and please let us know of any good deals or questions that you have!

Welcome

Welcome to our new blog! This was all Millicent's idea :) She's been finding so many great deals and we keep emailing each other about the deals we were finding, so we decided to share them with you too. Now you can just log on to see what we're up to and we won't have to email you all the time! It's our hope that this blog will help you to save money and live with-in your means a little easier!!

Blessings,
Judy
